Contains Moderate Peril is always on the lookout for potential new contributors. We would like to find confident writers who could cover the following: SWTOR, Rift, WoW and some of the other high profile MMOs. Now we are not specifically looking for a regurgitation of the latest news on these topics. We are far more interested in thoughts, opinions and commentary. A little bit humour also helps.
I recently made similar requests to the above, on two well known forums. This produced mixed results and some interested parties felt the need for further clarification. As anyone who currently contributes to the website will tell you, our remit is very broad. Writers are left to their own devices and there is no attempt at micromanagement. Some people will embrace these creative freedom, where others might find such vagaries, not to their liking. I think Contains Moderate Peril has a very clear approach, style and feel. One that you either get quite quickly or not at all. If you are one of those who do get it, then we would very much like to hear from you.
My e-mail address is on the contacts page. If you are interested, then feel free to drop me a line and attach a sample of your work. With regards to the podcast, we do not at present any new presenters, but are always on the look out for material to include in the shows. Therefore you may wish to attach a short audio file or test segment for our consideration. I won’t over burden you with technical requirements, but you may wish to read up on the podcast recording process to ensure that a certain standard is maintained. Please note that simply submitting an article or a recording, does not automatically guarantee that it will be accepted and used. Brian and I appreciate enthusiasm, but it is no substitute for ability. Also, the editors decisions are final and we won’t get involved in lengthy discussions or disputes.
Finally, let me make one point very clear. This is not a paying gig. All we can offer at present is exposure to a growing audience and an opportunity to build an online presence. But these can be good things for the aspiring writer or podcaster. Furthermore, there’s also scope to have some fun. We wouldn’t be doing it otherwise. Thanks for taking the time to read this somewhat self-serving post. The rest is now up to you. Look forward to hearing from you.
